What is Fiasco Classic?
Fiasco Classic is a collaborative storytelling game about people whose plans become disastrous. It does not need a conventional game master or a combat loop to make the dice useful. Dice help structure setup and later procedures, but the relationships and choices around them drive the story. This page refers specifically to the dice-based Classic edition, not the later boxed card-based version.
How to use the presets
The four-player setup tray has sixteen d6 split evenly between two labeled colors. Adjust both groups for the actual player count under the rules. The display keeps every face separate, since setup is not resolved by one giant sum. Allocating dice to choices, transferring them and resolving the Tilt or Aftermath still require the game's procedures and tables.
For three Classic players, set six dice in each color group rather than leaving the four-player sixteen-die tray unchanged.
Practical table tips
- Check the edition first. The newer card-based Fiasco does not need this setup pool.
- Use the two group labels as persistent color names when physical color is unavailable. The shared text retains those labels.
- Write down selections as you make them. The tray does not remove a die from a common setup pool or assign it to a relationship.
