Online Dice4 custom dice · your chosen range
Custom dice can also make a small range useful. Four dice set to five sides can select a place, an activity, a constraint, and a reward from four compact lists you wrote yourself.
Give every list five entries, then set the custom range to 5. The example selects rows 2,5,1, and 4 in their assigned slots. Numbering the lists carefully makes even a modest dice range useful.
⚙️ Example setup: 4 dice × 5 sides
Raw sum2 + 5 + 1 + 4 = 12
Adding four D5s favors the middle and starts at 4. It does not choose one of twenty rows uniformly. Keep four labeled choices for this recipe, or set one custom die to 20 when that is the task you actually need.
| Total | Ordered sets | Chance, rounded |
|---|---|---|
| 4 | 1 | 0.16% |
| 12 | 85 | 13.6% |
| 20 | 1 | 0.16% |
Standard independent-dice model: 625 ordered outcomes. Percentages are rounded.
Five entries per list keep this four-part recipe compact. The field can also accept a larger whole-number range from 2 to 9999. Choose the actual shared list length, rather than expanding it for appearance.
