What is Yahtzee?
Yahtzee turns five ordinary dice into a game about choosing what to preserve and when to abandon a plan. A first roll may suggest several scoring categories at once. Keeping useful faces and rerolling the rest is therefore essential; a button that replaces all five every time is not enough. This tray supports that local keep-and-reroll workflow without pretending to be a complete score sheet.
How to use the presets
Roll the five dice, then click or tap any dice you want to hold. Held dice retain their values when you press Roll again, while the others animate and change. Release all clears those holds. The page shows the dice and their total, but a total is not the score for every category. You still choose a category, enforce your turn limit and record bonuses according to the rules.
Hold three matching fours, then reroll the other two. The held fours remain in place rather than being regenerated.
Practical table tips
- Use the visible Kept markers rather than trying to remember which dice you tapped. A second tap releases a held die.
- Finish scoring a turn before releasing everything for the next player. This page does not know whether a score box is already occupied.
- Treat the preset link as a tray setup, not a saved tournament. It preserves the configuration but not a scorecard or the current held results.
Yahtzee dice FAQ
Can I reroll only some dice?
Yes. After a completed roll, tap dice to hold them. The next roll leaves them unchanged.
Does it enforce three rolls?
No. Keep track of the permitted rolls at the table. The button is not a turn referee.
Does it score straights or a full house?
Not automatically. It displays the five faces and a sum for reference; apply the selected scoring category yourself.
No scorecard, turn counter, category validation or bonus tracking is included.
Independent, unofficial dice aid. Game names identify the intended use; their publishers do not endorse this page. These original explanations are not a replacement for the rules.
