1d24 · one choice from 24 outcomes

A whole day waiting in one die 🕰️

A D24 is a direct 1–24 choice. It can select an entry from a homebrew table or a clock slot for a fictional event. Agree on the hour mapping first, and let the selected time suggest a scene.

🕒 D24 Roller - A Whole Day in One Click

Twenty-four outcomes map neatly onto hours, which makes D24 unusually good at pretending to be a scheduling tool.

⏰ Try this

Use 1-24 as hours, table entries, shift numbers, locations or a daily prompt list. If you want 00:00-23:00, treat 24 as midnight or subtract one from the result.

03:00 protocol

Rolling 03:00 does not mean you should send the message. The die has no legal liability.

1/24 per result

That is about 4.17% for each face. The clock interpretation is optional; the math does not care what time it is.

for players / practical use

Hours and shifts without range conversion

  • Picking a random hour from a 24-hour day.
  • Twenty-four-entry event or encounter tables.
  • Homebrew initiative, location or weather systems.
  • Any flat 1-24 result without converting another die.
⚡ Common rolls
For hours, map 1-23 directly and decide whether 24 means midnight or 00:00 before you roll.

A nine becomes eight in the morning

To choose an hour on a 00–23 clock, agree that 1 means 00:00, 2 means 01:00, and 24 means 23:00. Subtract one from the result to get the clock hour. A roll of 9 therefore selects 08:00.

The hour conversion belongs on the table

This roller displays 1–24, not 0–23. Decide on the clock mapping beforehand. Also, adding two D12s reaches 24 but favors the middle and never gives 1, so it cannot replace a flat D24 roll.

One D24 and two D12s have different jobs

A single D24 gives every row a one-in-twenty-four chance. Two D12s have 144 ordered pairs, with total 13 more likely than either endpoint. The same maximum can hide a very different distribution.

A full day or a twenty-four-row table

Choose a time for a story event, an entry in a homebrew list, or a D24 result requested by a rule. The number of sides describes the random range; it does not determine how the game interprets the roll.

Twenty-four entries divide the full range

4.17%per named result in the uniform-die model

The numerical mean is 12.5. Converting a selected face to a clock label changes how you read it, not how many of the twenty-four outcomes belong to that hour.
